Biography:
Oliver Halkowich, who was born in the Florida Keys, grew up in Deerfield Beach, Florida. His dance training extends the breadth of the United States and includes four years with San Francisco Ballet, two years with Miami City Ballet, as well as extensive private study with Magda Auñon and Liana Navarro. In addition to performing with San Francisco Ballet while he trained there, Mr. Halkowich also danced with Boston Ballet during their 2001-2002 season. His lead roles include the Jester in Ben Stevenson’s Cinderella, as well as Gopak in The Nutcracker. Mr. Halkowich’s repertoire also includes featured roles in Paul Taylor’s In the Beginning and Company B; Harald Lander’s Etudes;Ben Stevenson’s Alice in Wonderland; Agnes DeMille’s Rodeo; and George Balanchine’s Slaughter on Tenth Avenue. He is a soloist with Houston Ballet.
