Biography:
Casey Herd (principal dancer, Dutch National Ballet) from Salt Lake City (Utah, U.S.A.) trained at the Ballet West Academy (Salt Lake City), Kirov Academy (Washington) and the Pacific Norhtwest Ballet School. He was finalist in the Paris International Ballet Competition in 1996, after which he joined the American Ballet Theatre. In 1999 he joined the Pacific Northwest Ballet, where he in 2002 was promoted to soloist and to principal in 2006. His roles span from George Balanchine to William Forsythe, Nacho Duato to Twyla Tharp, Glenn Tetley to Jerome Robbins. Principal roles include Marius Petipa’s Sleeping Beauty, Le Corsaire Pas de Trois, Don Quixote, Paquita, Kent Stowell’s Carmen, Carmina Burana, Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet and many others.
