<b>Biography:</b><br />
I am a choreographer and poet born in Kingston, Jamaica to a Chinese Rastafarian Reggae-producing father and an exceptionally creative Indian-Scottish mother who loved to sing and dance. My mother had me at an early age, and consequently, was unable to fulfill her dreams of being an artist. Physically and artistically inclined, my family includes a brother who is the 2009 number one draft pick for the New England Patriots, and cousins, uncles and aunts who paint, sing, draw, and take photographs.

So far, I have been commissioned to create works for Connecticut Ballet, Joffrey Ballet School, Ballet Santa Barbara, Cedar Lake Ensemble II, and Luna Negra Dance Theater. Further I was assistant choreographer to Karole Armitage on the Public Theater’s Shakespeare in the Park production of HAIR, which later went to Broadway while I was her Rehearsal Director. Upcoming projects include an invitation to create works for In The Company of Men and the Reverb Choreographic Competition where I am one of this year’s winning choreographers. My company takes its first tour to Denmark in June on invitation to the finals of the Aarhus International Choreographic Competition.

My dance career spanned the companies of Alonzo King’s Lines Ballet, Karole Armitage’s Armitage Gone! Dance, Dwight Rhoden/Desmond Richardson’s Complexions, and Tina Ramirez’ Ballet Hispanico of New York, among others. Over the years I have studied numerous disciplines including: Dance, Voice, Piano, Web Design, Photography, Interactive Technology, and Poetry. I was the first in my family to reach and graduate from college, and I hold the BS in Accounting from the University of Florida and the MFA in Creative Writing from New York University where I was a fellowship and scholarship recipient as well as an adjunct professor.

In addition to my directorship of the Collective, I teach open ballet classes in New York City at Dance New Amsterdam (DNA) and Peridance, and am a private Certified GYROTONIC? instructor.
