Biography:
Born in the Philippines, Mr. Royon started professional dance training at 16 under the tutelage of Wade Walthall at the Evergreen City Ballet Academy in Auburn, Washington. In 2006, Bennyroyce received his BFA degree from The Juilliard School where he danced notable works by Jose Limon, Paul Taylor, Mark Morris and world premieres by Jessica Lang, Jacqulyn Buglisi, Ron Brown, Eliot Feld, Alan Hineline, and Jill Johnson. He has freelanced with numerous companies in New York City such as the Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company, The Metropolitan Opera Ballet, Nilas Martins Dance Company, Chamber Dance Project, Sidra Bell Dance New York, and Rasta Thomas’ “Bad Boys of Dance”. Bennyroyce has also toured Canada & Europe with Cas Public, a Montréal-based contemporary dance company. He has taught ballet & contemporary classes and presented his choreographic works in Seattle, New York City, Montréal, and at Jacob’s Pillow in Beckett, Massachusetts. He is the founder of Bennyroyce Productions, a dance production company facilitating and supporting all facets of his creative process. Bennyroyce is excited to dance with Collective Body Dance Lab and appears through the courtesy of Armitage Gone! Dance of New York.
