1. Why is it called DancePulp?
When we think pulp, we think substance, mass, core, the meaty part of something, the knitty-gritty, fresh, alive, raw, nourishing…this is the part of dance we want to make accessible to you.

4. How is this website different from YouTube, other dance media websites, or magazines?
DancePulp is unique because it is run by a current professional dancer who has inside access to many sources of exclusive information. This means that DancePulp will have fresh content coming directly from inside the profession, and it can only be accessed through our site or Hulu. We also own all the rights to our videos, unlike much of the content you will see on YouTube or other video related sites. Most dance websites and magazines are kept up by either former dancers, dance lovers, or dance fans. Having a current dancer directly involved enables members a more in-depth look at the dance world through video commentary and interviews featuring people at the top of their trade. Because Jacoby is not part of a full-time dance company, she has especially uncommon access to many different companies, dancers, and choreographers in the classical, modern, contemporary, and commercial fields. The website’s content will also largely be determined by member feedback, so it will be highly interactive and allow it’s members to directly influence content production. Unlike traditional magazines, members will not only read interviews and look at pictures, but watch their favorite dancers, directors, and choreographers via HD video. A lot of the footage will be unplanned, so this gives DancePulp’s members a more honest and candid look into the lives of dancers. Think of it as a cross between a magazine and a reality TV show/documentary, almost like an Inside the Actor’s Studio for dance. And we want you to interact and be involved!

5. Why do I have to watch ads during the video clips?
Our advertising sponsors are making it possible to offer you DancePulp videos for free. If we didn’t have these ads, you’d be paying to view them. Because of these advertisers, we are able to distribute our content on a larger scale, bringing more popularity and exposure to the wonderful world of dance!
